Aluminium alloy 6082 is a medium strength alloy with excellent corrosion resistance. It has the highest strength of the 6000 series alloys. Alloy 6082 is known as a structural alloy. In plate form, 6082 is the alloy most commonly used for machining. As a relatively new alloy, the higher strength of 6082 has seen it replace AA6061 in many applications. The addition of a large amount of manganese controls the grain structure which in turn results in a stronger alloy.
Due to its strength and corrosion resistance, Alumiunium Sheets of alloy 6082 are typically used in construction of Trusses, bridges, cranes and in other transport applications.

We offer a variety of plain Aluminium sheet metal. Different alloys offer a range of weldability, machinability and resistance to corrosion.
Aluminium Alloy 1100 is the most common plain Aluminium sheet metal. This alloy is essentially alumininium in its pure form, best known for its weldability and machinability.
Aluminium Alloy 3003 is a medium strenght allow with excellent workability, weldability, and good corrosion resistance.
Aluminium Alloy 5005 is typically used as an decorative and architectural alloy as it is suitable for anodizing
Aluminium Alloy 5052 is the alloy of choice for outdoor applications due to the good corrosion resistance and bendability
Aluminium Alloy 5083 is known for its exceptional performance in extreme environments. It has superior corrosion resistance from seawater.
Aluminium Alloy 6082 has the highest strength of all 6000 series alloys. In plate form, AA 6082 has replaced AA 6061
Aluminium Alloy 7075 is among the highest strength commercially available alloy of Aluminium with its strenght comparable to steel
Aluminium alloy 6082 is indeed a good choice if you are looking for the alloy that has the highest strength of the 6000 series. It is known as a structural alloy. The alloy 6082 is used for machining. It is relatively a new and the strongest alloy. Aluminium alloy 6082 has replaced alloy 6061 in many applications. Some of the main applications of aluminium ally 6082 are roof trusses, milk, churns, cranes, ore skips, bridges, and highly stressed applications. This alloy is predominately used in highly stressed applications.
The Aluminium alloy 6082 is easily available in sheets and plates. You can easily use this alloy if you are in or associated with the business of manufacturing cranes, bridges, and trusses. We procure these products from European mills who pride themselves on manufacturing the highest quality aluminium sheets and plates. This is particularly important when the use of the sheets is for safety critical applications. This alloy is also considered good for machinability. Since key features are exceptional, you will never face any hurdles in your way to pick aluminium alloy 6082 if needed.
